Owu Waterfalls is a waterfall located between Owa Onire and Owa Kajola in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria. It is the tallest waterfall in West Africa measuring 120m above sea level and cascades 330 feet down an escarpment, with rocky outcrops into a pool of ice-cold water below.

Owu falls is said to have been discovered by a local hunter, Jimoh Aremu but brought to limelight over 40 years ago by a missionary, Reverend Plafare Dui. Another story I’ve heard is that there used to be an anaconda that was terrorizing and threatening the lives of the people. So, the people offered sacrifices to it, and ever since then the killings stopped. It is also said that God struck the snake dead with thunder.
